What Are Dermal Fillers Dermal fillers are largley comprised of Hyaluronic Acid,a substance found naturally throughout our bodies. It plays an important role in lubrication and moisture retention in tissues due to its ability to store water. It is the loss of such properties in the skin and the underlying tissues which leads to the loss of volume and eventual wrinkling and folding of skin. Filler products can vary from a gel like consistency, for deep folds, to a near watery liquid for superficial lines. However, in some cases medical conditions may mean patients are not suitable for treatment.
